Charlestown council considering summer Frosty Drew event

CHARLESTOWN -- The Town Council is considering tonight the approval of a new summer event held by the Frosty Drew Observatory and Nature Center.

Wind ordinance expected to be a big topic at tonight's NK Town Council meeting

The topic of wind turbines will come before the North Kingstown Town Council tonight as the Council considers imposing a moratorium on all new wind energy projects.
The moratorium, which is expected to last anywhere between six months to a year, would not apply to the proposed project on Stamp Farm but would limit any new turbine proposals.

Recycling still voluntary in Narragansett

NARRAGANSETT–Narragansett has no single stream recycling program.  But Rhode Island’s Resource Recovery Corporation (RIRRC) hopes to create a single bin a pick-up system for 2011-12. Without outside funding, independent businesses are purchasing toters at a discounted price in order to expand and deepen the town’s recycling program.
