August 7, 2012

A few weeks ago when I was writing a story about the cable business channel CNBC ranking Rhode Island 50th among the 50 states in so-called “business friendliness,” I talked to a lot of people who said, yeah, with our taxes and the horrendous condition of our roads and bridges, we pretty much deserve the dubious distinction.

Wickford Village is the new home of Maxwell’s Made in America, a unique store showcasing local artisans and providing shoppers with arts and crafts specialty items made in America.
A showcase store for artisans and crafters from Ocean State Artisans (OSA), the store moved from its original home in East Greenwich to the barn in Wickford Village in June. Just in time for the close of schools and the busy summer season, Maxwell’s Made in America is a compliment to the local retail environment.

August 6, 2012

EAST GREENWICH —It’s been five years since Paul Donnelly has been manager at the Greenwich Club and, in that time, he never received a scare quite like the one he had last Friday.

Nerves were extremely rattled at the exclusive club located at 5426 Post Rd. last week on the part of both workers and members alike when a two-year-old infant was found floating in a pool during the late-morning hours.

NORTH KINGSTOWN– The spirit of the evening at Monday’s combined meeting of the Town Council and Planning Department was reduction and elimination.
Not to be confused with the possibility of decreases in taxation and budgetary minutia, the council focused its attention on reducing stakeholder input for issues affecting the town’s Comprehensive Plan.

And waited. And waited – for a call that never came.
