Girls lacrosse team has a new mentor

This past winter East Greenwich saw a significant amount of turnover amongst its head coaches.
Matt Records – who prior to the move was the head coach of the girls basketball team – took over the boys basketball team for Craig MacKenzie and Records’ former assistant coach – Tori Ahrens – took his place.

Top-seeded Lincoln slipped past the No. 2 Prout 3-2 Thursday night at Brown Universities George V. Meehan Auditorium.
With a late flurry the Crusaders (15-5-0, 14-4-0 Division II Central) closed a 3-1 deficit, coming up just short against the Lions (19-0-1, 17-0-1 Division II North) as time ran out in game one of the Division II Boy’s Ice Hockey Championship.

Prout goalkeeper Austin Gemma played about as well as anyone could expect a freshman to in game two of Saturday’s best-of-three Division II Boys Ice Hockey Championship series between the Crusaders and Lincoln.
Unfortunately for Gemma and his Crusader teammates hockey – like most sports – can be fickle.
