COVENTRY â€” The Coventry softball team committed two errors and made a couple of other defensive lapses in the top of the ninth inning Wednesday which allowed visiting North Kingstown to pull away for a 7-3 nine-inning victory.
COVENTRY â€” Rachel Ball had two hits in the first three innings of Coventryâ€™s season opener against Toll Gate Monday, but those hits were scrubbed away when the game was abandoned in the top of the fourth inning because of heavy rain and wind.

After a four-year hiatus from the postseason the Chariho boys tennis team made its return to the playoffs last season after finishing the regular season 8-8 in the Division II.
The Chargers were swept by Classical in the first round but with that experience and a veteran roster in tow Chariho is hoping to take the next step this season.
Councilman proposes Deepwater Wind talks be suspended until July 1
NARRAGANSETT - Freshman council member, Matthew Mannix, called for a suspension of negotiations with Deepwater Wind sending a formal motion to suspend and supporting memorandum to Town Clerk Anne Irons for placement on the April 1 town council agenda.
