McDonald gets home confinement pending March 12 sentencing

February 3, 2014

WARWICK – Patrick Timothy McDonald was released on $20,000 personal recognizance Tuesday and sentenced to home confinement, pending a March 12 sentencing date.

Kent County Superior Court Justice Brian P. Stern also had the former state senator and Narragansett town councilor sign a waiver of extradition.

Amy Kempe, public information officer for the Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office, said that a motion for a new trial is also on the calendar for Feb. 10.

Counsel for McDonald filed that motion Jan. 23.

Kempe said a motion for a new trial is typically filed in such cases.
