Council explores options to increase parking on Matunuck Beach Road

September 26, 2013

SOUTH KINGSTOWN – The South Kingstown Town Council asked the town Monday to look into extending the area where parking is permitted on Matunuck Beach Road.

The item was on the council’s agenda at the request of Councilor Jim O’Neill.

“Sometimes the ticketing is really incredible,” O’Neill said.

He said he thought parking could be allowed between the Vanilla Bean and the area where parking is permitted, near the Ocean Mist, on the ocean side of the road.

“We need to make this viable, we need to make this pro-business,” he said of expanding the parking.
