EAST GREENWICH—There has been quite the tradition of girls lacrosse at East Greenwich High School of late.
After two straight trips to the Division I semifinals, the Avengers have become a force in the Rhode Island Interscholastic League.
Off to a perfect 4-0 start following Tuesday night’s 20-11 win over South Kingstown, it appears as though there was a seamless transition from last year.

Against a team like two-time defending Division II champion East Greenwich that margin is significantly slimmer.

NARRAGANSETT—Finding its way in Division II was never going to be easy for the Narragansett boys lacrosse team.
After making it to the Division III Championship last season the Mariners moved up to D-II South in a subdivision that features last year’s finals participants in East Greenwich and South Kingstown.

KINGSTON—Amidst national speculation he would be leaving the program after just one season, URI men’s basketball coach Dan Hurley put an end to all the rumors last Friday when he signed a two-year contract extension that will keep him in Kingston until 2020.
