Coventry NECAP scores hit the mark

COVENTRY — According to Coventry’s NECAP numbers, most of the district’s schools are above the state average, with a few exceptions.
According to the report, the majority of reading and math testing for grades three through six in all five elementary schools (Blackrock, Tiogue, Hopkins Hill, Washington Oak and Western Coventry) surpassed state averages.

COVENTRY—Everyday, Angela Stanley, of Coventry, interacts with children in her boutique. To date, it hasn’t touched her personally, but through her store and her friends she has seen young lives affected by blood cancers like leukemia.

West Kingston Village study unveiled

SOUTH KINGSTOWN – The town of South Kingstown has received a $40,000 grant from the state for the planning of West Kingston Village, Vincent Murray, the town’s director of planning, announced Tuesday.
Members of the South Kingstown community convened at West Kingston Elementary School Tuesday for the West Kingston Village Study, during which experts presented a village study and residents provided input on their community.

The Exeter-West Greenwich senior scored a goal and had two assists Saturday afternoon to help the West Warwick /Exeter-West Greenwich co-op hockey team move to within one victory of the Division III title.

For 38 minutes Tolman goalie Jared DaSilva and the rest of the No. 3 Tigers found a way to frustrate the state’s leading scorer, West Warwick/Exeter-West Greenwich senior forward Antonio Rei, in Game One of the Division III championship series at Meehan Auditorium Saturday afternoon.
