Serra takes the stand as last witness

WARWICK - Former Chariho School Committeewoman Terri Serra took the stand as the last witness in her own trial on Monday, and defended the actions she took last October when a teenage drinking party took place on her property, and four Chariho boys were injured in a subsequent car crash. Serra is charged under the state’s social host law for the party, and under the duty to assist statute for failing to call 911 at the near-fatal accident scene.

NK's Bryan Groves honored for serving his country

NORTH KINGSTOWN - Many 25 year-olds have either graduated college, or have been working in the “real world” for a few years but for one North Kingstown resident, life is about a little bit more than that.
For Bryan Groves, who graduated from North Kingstown High School in 2006 and the University of Rhode Island in 2010 and soon after was commissioned as a lieutenant in the Army through the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC), life revolves around serving your country.
