EXETER – The sun is beating down on Sheila Reynolds-Boothroyd as she sets up a table in front of the newly restored Woody Hill School. She’s preparing for the open house organized by the Exeter Historical Association which she heads.
At Saturday’s event, part of a two-day celebration of the town’s one-room schools, Virginia Barber Laiho and her sister Alice Barber Boynton, who lived at the farm across the road, share memories.

Tax abatement program approved in SK

SOUTH KINGSTOWN – The town council authorized the town tax assessor Monday night to abate taxes for people participating in the elderly tax abatement program in the amount of $326,000.

CHARLESTOWN - There will be a new face behind the town administrator’s desk at the Charlestown Town Hall for the next three weeks. Town Treasurer Patricia Anderson will be ascending to the roll of Town Administrator in the absence of Bill DiLebero.
