SOUTH KINGSTOWN â The town council seeks a meeting with the school committee to discuss next yearâs financial outlook after the school committee accepted the Reconfiguration Committeeâs recommendation to make four equal neighborhood schools and move the pre-school program.
The council voted to direct six possible dates to convene with the school committee through the end of August.
HOPKINTON - There will be a special election held on July 26 to choose a new member of the Hopkinton Town Council. One seat on the town council is currently vacant, and has been since the resignation of council member Jonathan Osborne in April.

NORTH KINGSTOWNâIt was a triumphant weekend for the Wickford Art Association.
By the close of the 49th annual Wickford Art Festival on Sunday evening, exhibitors, attendees and organizers all shared a sense of relaxed satisfaction in the success of this yearâs event.
A yellow-shirted Festival Staff member commented that âA lot of people have been coming up to the Information Booth with compliments, saying itâs the best year yet. When they take the time to seek you out and tell you this, you know they really mean it.â
