Chariho Community Innovative Projects Fund announces grants

WOOD RIVER JCT. -- The Chariho Community Innovative Projects Fund (CCIP), administered by the Rhode Island Foundation, has announced grants of $9,050 for the 2010-11 academic year.

Local runners among top finishers in Boston

NARRAGANSETT - From the starting line in Hopkinton through the infamous Heartbreak Hill and to the finishing line at Copley Square, over 24,000 runners competed in the world’s most famous race, the Boston Marathon. Amongst those leading the pack of runners on Monday were two local legends, Glen Guillemette of Narragansett and Claire Gadrow of Wakefield.

As Earth Day approaches, RWU students clean up the beach

NARRAGANSETT–The weather did indeed cooperate with the students from Roger Williams University on Sunday afternoon. Traveling in two school buses, their goal on this wind swept, yet sunny day was to clean up Narragansett Town Beach.
A group of 50 students gathered at the South Beach Pavilion in Narragansett with trash bags and gloves, ready to help clean the beach as Earth Day approaches on this Friday, April 22.

NK, Exeter ready for Earth Day

Volunteers from the Concerned Citizens of Davisville are stepping up again in honor of Earth Day to keep their neighborhoods looking green and great.
The annual cleanup is scheduled to take place Saturday, April 30 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The rain date will be Sunday, May 1.
Volunteers of all ages, including eighth graders from the Davisille Middle School as well as the Cub Scouts from the Davisville Pack and other groups, will meet at the Davisville Middle School.
