WARWICK - Congressman Jim Langevin (D-RI) expressed approval of today's announcement by the Economic Development Administration selecting Point Judith as one of six New England ports to receive an economic review in the coming weeks.
NARRAGANSETT–A Narragansett man died Monday morning after a fire engulfed the inside of his home at 45 Durkin Drive. David W. Jordan, a 57 year-old lobsterman, was said to be trapped inside of his one floor ranch home.
Narragansett Fire Chief Jim Cotter said that a relative called Jordan’s house but received no answer. The relative then went to Jordan’s home and after seeing flames, called 911.
NORTH KINGSTOWN – Students at the Suzanne M. Henseler Quidnessett Elementary School have been treated all week to special guest readers as part of Reading Week.
The week began with Gov. Lincoln Chafee reading to the kindergarten students and Attorney General Peter Kil-martin reading to the fifth graders. The Governor read Ducks Don’t Wear Socks, by John Nedwidek.
