KINGSTON â You canât spell âlate-season collapseâ without URI.
Technically you can, but thereâs no denying that when it comes to winning when it matters most, the University of Rhode Island menâs basketball has not performed when it counted.
The last three seasons URI has had a chance to puts itself in the NCAA Tournament, only to flame out late in A-10 play, followed by struggles in the Atlantic 10 Tournament.
This year is a little different.
SOUTH KINGSTOWN â The South Kingstown High School will soon eliminate its lower level â B classes to help students achieve a higher standard and receive better scores on the state NECAPs.
PROVIDENCE â Former Charlestown police officer Brian Jackson had moved to Dallas, Texas where he joined the police force. On the night of Nov. 13, 2005, he responded to a domestic disturbance call.
He was shot by a suspect and died an hour later. A "Blue Alert" was issued by the Dallas Police force with witness details and the suspect was arrested within a few hours.
SOUTH KINGSTOWN â Two juveniles were arrested Monday for break-in and entering on two separate incidents.
At 1:32 p.m., police arrested a 14-year old male for breaking into a home on Kenyon Ave.
âSomeone called in the suspicious activity and we were able to locate the individual in the area,â Capt. Jeffrey Allen of the South Kingstown police said.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. â An East Greenwich collegiate legend has made his mark and established his place, and Rhode Island PBS has preserved it as living history.
The film, âJack Yenaâs Legacy: Finding a Sense of Place,â is the third of a trilogy of documentaries about the unique history of Johnson & Wales University by filmmaker Marian Gagnon. Yena resides in E.G.
The complete film series has been years in the making.
