Guerrilla Goodness is spreading acts of kindness

SOUTH KINGSTOWN – Pumpkins on doorsteps, gift cards in library books and chalking up sidewalks outside of schools with good wishes on the first day of school are some ways Guerrilla Goodness is spreading intentional, anonymous acts of kindness.

These simple acts of kindness have already started popping up in Wakefield after Jo Anne Mixner started a Wakefield chapter of the national movement to make the world a better place.

CJOC looks back at Rhode Island's 'good time' law

PROVIDENCE – When news broke that convicted child killer Michael Woodmansee would be released 12 years early due to good behavior, his release sparked a debate on whether Rhode Island’s current good time law should be examined.

The result of that debate, a six month study of the current system by the Criminal Justice Oversight Committee (CJOC) is underway after the committee held its first meeting Monday morning to review the good time credit for Rhode Island prisoners before making a final recommendation in January.

Serra resigns from Chariho School Committee
