NARRAGANSETT—Matthew Klotz, 27, of 33 Hopkins St., Stonington, Connecticut, violated the bail conditions set on Monday after he had been arraigned in Fourth District court for kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon, and carrying a dangerous weapon while committing a crime of violence. Klotz failed to make initial contact with pretrial services to engage with bail supervision, and was in Fourth District court on Wednesday for a hearing on his newly set bail conditions because of the violation.

NORTH KINGSTOWN – As far as the standings went, Tuesday’s game between the East Greenwich and North Kingstown field hockey teams didn’t mean much to either team. Both are headed to the playoffs – which could begin as early as Sunday – and there wasn’t anything to gain or lose with Tuesday’s result.
When Jean Sauco was in recovery from her treatment from breast cancer, exercise and meal planning were the last things on her mind.

NARRAGANSETT—On Tuesday evening, The Narragansett Chamber of Commerce presented Kenneth Rosbottom, a Narragansett resident, with the James M. Kelso Community Service Award. The presentation was given during the Chamber’s annual dinner at Spain’s Restaurant, and Rosbottom’s nomination was met with great applause.
