NORTH KINGSTOWN – As far as the standings went, Tuesday’s game between the East Greenwich and North Kingstown field hockey teams didn’t mean much to either team. Both are headed to the playoffs – which could begin as early as Sunday – and there wasn’t anything to gain or lose with Tuesday’s result.
When Jean Sauco was in recovery from her treatment from breast cancer, exercise and meal planning were the last things on her mind.

NARRAGANSETT—On Tuesday evening, The Narragansett Chamber of Commerce presented Kenneth Rosbottom, a Narragansett resident, with the James M. Kelso Community Service Award. The presentation was given during the Chamber’s annual dinner at Spain’s Restaurant, and Rosbottom’s nomination was met with great applause.

NARRAGANSETT—The University of Rhode Island’s research vessel Endeavor returned to port this past Tuesday, number 500 in the ship’s long career of transporting scientists throughout the world’s oceans and reporting back millions of pieces of quality, oceanographic data. The most recent trip, however, took a step further by bringing undergraduates along to experience life onboard conducting research.
