NORTH KINGSTOWN – Cyndi Desrochers is trying to love her new e-reader but, well, it’s just not the same as holding a book.
The new director of the North Kingstown Free Library, who started her job Sept. 7 after serving as acting director of the West Warwick Public Library, finds the electronic device helpful for traveling.

Knights shut out Hope

WEST GREENWICH - The Exeter-West Greenwich football team scored on its first drive of the game, took advantage of a botched Hope punt and scored on its second possession of the game and the defense did the rest in a 26-0 win Saturday afternoon.

ARLSRI fundraiser will have dogs 'bahking'

CHARLESTOWN - In Rhode Island, dogs do not bark, they “bahk.”

The Animal Rescue League of Southern Rhode Island (ARLSRI) is embracing their love of dogs and their Rhode Island pride by presenting the first annual “Bahk in the Pahk” dog-walking event on Sunday, Oct. 2, at Ninigret Park. All funds raised at the event will benefit the rescue league and their mission of providing for animals that have been surrendered by their owners.
