It was the play that decided Saturday’s game, but it wasn’t the reason URI lost to La Salle, 76-75, Saturday afternoon.

Some stats from halftime:
-URI shoots an impressive 8 for 30, making a stout 3 of 16 from the 3-point line. What's impressive is that they kept trying to shoot from deep when it obviously wasn't working.
-La Salle's Aaric Murray picked up two quick fouls and only played nine minutes. He scored eight points. Had he not picked up the second foul, URI would be in some serious trouble.
-URI forced 12 turnovers, which would be great if it didn't commit nine.
-The Rams have assisted on 75 percent of their field goals, which would be an awesome stat if they had made more than eight buckets.
WESTERLY -- South County Habitat for Humanity has announced that it is seeking applicants for an existing two-bedroom Habitat unit in a duplex.
SOUTH KINGSTOWN/NARRAGANSETT – As snow and sleet hailed down on Rhode Island Tuesday morning, travel slowed and cars slipped, causing 19 motor vehicle accidents in South Kingstown and four in Narragansett. There were no serious injuries.
The four Narragansett accidents occurred in the center of the town according to police, near Mumford Road, Highland Avenue and South Pier Road.
NARRAGANSETT—For four straight weeks Rhode Islanders have seen their gas prices increase at the pump. Average retail gasoline prices in Rhode Island have risen 0.9 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.19 per gallon yesterday. This compares with the national average that has increased 0.9 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.07 per gallon, according to gasoline price website RhodeIslandGasPrices.com. Other websites including www.rhodeislandgasprices.com/ show constantly updated charts of the state’s cheapest and most expensive station rates.
