RICHMOND – In case you ever wanted to put a face to just who benefits from the blood donated at the various drives throughout the state, meet Keith Bloomer.
NARRAGANSETT–The five-person school committee and superintendent met on Wednesday and the first agenda item became Southern Rhode Island Regional Collaborative (SORICO). The collaborative is a non-profit cooperative educational service involving Block Island, Chariho, East Greenwich, Exeter/West Greenwich, Jamestown, Narragansett, North Kingstown, South Kingstown, and Westerly. The organization was established in 1988 and involved eight high schools, 11 middle schools, and 33 elementary schools was intended to regionalize services for the area. Recently, South Kingstown, West Greenwich, and North Kingstown withdrew during their school committee meetings while Chariho did not.
Panera Bread recently presented a check to the South County Hospital Breast Health Program.
The proceeds of $1013.00 were the result of Panera Bread's annual Pink Bagel and Cater Pink campaign. South County Hospital Breast Health Coordinator Marie McCormick and Breast Health Nurse Marilyn Favali accepted the check for the hospital.
The funds will be used to purchase resources for the South County Hospital Cancer Resource Library.
