October 26th
Albert F. Fassbender Jr., died Oct. 20, 2010 after a long illness at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.
A Memorial Service will be held at Shepherd of the Valley Church in Hope on Nov. 20th at 12 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
With a 13-7 win over East Providence Friday night, the Bishop Hendricken Hawks continued their recent stretch of dominance at the top of the Rhode Island Sports Media High School Football Poll, garnering all 11 first-place votes to finish 13 points ahead of Portsmouth for first place.

Anthony T. Marsigliano, 55, formerly of Providence and Coventry, passed away on Friday, Oct. 22, 2010 at the Zambarano Hospital in Burrillville. He was the son of the late Leonardo “Lenny” and Gilda (Manera) Marsigliano.
His Funeral will be Thursday at 8:45 a.m. from the R.A. IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (Route 117), Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the Holy Ghost Church, 1 Knight St., Providence. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich. Visiting hours are Wednesday 4-7 p.m. Information and condolences at www.iannottifh.com.
Eleanor M. (Wilkinson) Hakanson-Andrews, 89, of Coventry, died peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010 at Kent Hospital. Born in Fall River, Mass., she was a daughter of the late Wright Wilkinson and Jennie (Bell) Wilkinson. She was the wife of the late Russell Andrews and Berthel H. Hakanson.

The 2010 Wickford Horribles Parade went off swimmingly Sunday afternoon on Main Street and locals from all across Southern Rhode Island were on hand to display their best costumes.
From Optimus Prime to "Duke Vader", locals were dressed to the nines and a real sight to behold.

The University of Rhode Island football team was inches, literally, away from a monumental win over Maine Saturday afternoon but a fumble by quarterback Steve Probst on a third-and-goal play from the one-yard line with one second to go ultimately put the final nail in the Rams’ coffin as URI fell to 2-5 on the season with a heartbreaking 28-23 loss on Homecoming Day.
