Fry arraignment moved to Oct. 26

NORTH KINGSTOWN – Over a year after allegedly murdering her eight year-old daughter, Camden, on Aug. 11, 2009, a Washington County Grand Jury handed up an indictment on Oct. 8, to North Kingstown resident Kimberly Fry, 37, on one count of second-degree murder. Fry was not present in court. She was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday, but at the request of the defense, the arraignment has been rescheduled for Oct. 26 in Washing County Superior Court.

Charger girls soccer put up a fight in defeat

WOOD RIVER JCT. — As Tiverton girls soccer coach Chris Messenger walked off the field at Chariho High School Monday night, he turned to Chargers’ coach Najih Lazar and congratulated him on a great game, saying Chariho gave his Tiger girls “all they could handle” and Lazar couldn’t have been more pleased.
Because sometimes, when you’re in the midst of an injury-plagued, rebuilding year, all you can ask for is to be competitive and to not quit.
And the Chargers passed both of those tests with flying colors Monday.

EG's Drljaca, Miller ousted from tourney

PAWTUCKET – Jen Miller knew what to expect.
The East Greenwich girls tennis No. 2 singles player was facing the No. 4 seed from Division I, and the Avenger senior had lost to Prout’s Kate Gilligan in the past. Miller just wanted to go out, have fun, play well and let the result take care of itself.
On another court, teammate Aleksandra Drljaca didn’t have much an idea of what to expect.
The Avs’ No. 1 singles player was making her Girls Tennis Singles Championship Tournament debut and knew she was going to face some tough opponents.

Trio of RFP's aim to save Beechwood

A battle in the backwoods

Chariho travels to Coventry to take on the Oakers in a Division II matchup between two teams fighting for a playoff spot - and the right to say they're one of the division's best.
The Chariho Times and Kent County Times will be on the sidelines for the game, with full story hitting the KCT on Saturday and the Chariho Times on Nov. 4.

Knights hope for a good day

The Exeter-West Greenwich boys soccer team has been one of the top teams in Division III this season, but West Warwick hasn't been bad either.
Wednesday at 3:30 p.m., the Wizards head to EWG to take on the Knights. Exeter needs a win to prove it can win a D-III title while the Wizards need to win to prove they can compete for one.
