Town council voices concerns on upcoming school year in South Kingstown
-Handling of budget, computers and dual language program among topics

SOUTH KINGSTOWN – The town council met Tuesday evening to discuss goals and objectives for the upcoming term – a discussion that later turned into an examination of the school committee and administration’s actions during and since the budget cycle.
“Even though it was my first budget, I’m disappointed in the way the budget was handled by them and the way they’ve acted since,” said Councilor Joe Viele to begin the discussion.

Free For All On Bay Day

Free parking, admission and family activities at all RI state beaches on Sunday, July 26

NARRAGANSETT – On this Sunday, July 26, parking will be free at all Rhode Island state beaches as part of the annual Governor’s Bay Day celebration. The day will feature family-friendly activities around the state as well as salt water fishing without a saltwater fishing license. RIPTA will also be waiving the round-trip fare on all service to South County Beaches on Route 66 (URI/Galilee).

Ocean Mist Deal with South Kingstown

SOUTH KINGSTOWN - Town Manager Stephen Alfred announced at a work session Tuesday night that the Coastal Resources Management Council is considering an application by Ocean Mist Owner Kevin Finnegan to build a structure that would protect the beach bar from the sea wall the town is building adjacent to it.
